IT Services
TraditionalÂ
Traditional services are comprised of mostly hardware/software devices in physical locations, such as data centers, campus networks, branch offices, and headquarters. The devices could be from various vendors, such as Cisco, Juniper, VMWare, F5, and Citrix.
We distinguish between traditional and cloud based services, however, the lines/delineation are becoming blurred/overlapping in the sense that traditional or on-premise devices/systems are connected to cloud infrastructure resources – hybrid-cloud design/configuration.

How
Preventing Data Loss
There are various methods to prevent data loss. The primary methods are to have regular full backups and either incremental or differential backups; and verifying logs to validate the backups were successful. It is wise to have backups stored off-site in a secure location or in the cloud.
Security is a major factor in preventing data loss. Threats to data could be external or internal sources. Having logging in place and analyzing the logs utilizing tools on a regular/scheduled basis is crucial to prevent and/or thwart the threats to data sources/repositories.
